16 FOREIGNERS INFLUED IN CHINA

The suspected cases will be isolated, temporarily housed in a sort of negative pressure incubator in the military airport: a PVC room, supplied with continuously filtered air. And in case of anomalies they will be immediately accompanied to the Spallanzani hospital, a specialized center for infectious diseases.

THE DEVICE
All this to minimize the possibility of hosting possible cases of virus-positive Italians at Cecchignola. Despite these measures, in the army sports center, it was decided to raise safety standards to the maximum. It is a device studied in detail, the one coordinated by the Ministry of Defense led by Lorenzo Guerini. Already on Boeing the 56 will fill out a form where they will indicate any food allergies. Only on the first day the menu will be restricted. Then it will be calibrated according to the requests.
Here’s what they will eat today: for lunch a speck and scamorza risotto, an omelette with spinach and a side dish of fennel au gratin. For dinner, white rice, a plate of cold cuts and cheeses accompanied by sauteed cauliflowers. The food will be served in single-portion trays, sealed, with fork, spoon and knife. They will have to be eaten strictly inside the room where guests live. At the end of the meal, the leftovers, containers and cutlery must be thrown in an envelope which they themselves must close. Finally, the bag will be treated as a special waste. The 56 will spend the 14 days divided into two three-storey ocher-colored buildings.
PRECAUTIONS
The different rooms will be assigned according to the number of family members. All have private bathrooms, televisions and wi-fi. Everywhere, then, the writing in Italian and Chinese stands out: Wash your hands often. A double indication because some children, in fact, are more familiar with the language of the country in which they have lived for years. Furthermore, there will be no contact with family members. “I won’t be able to hug my loved ones again immediately, but that’s fine, I’ll still be more relaxed,” said Michael Talignani, one of the 56 Italians, yesterday before embarking on the Boeing from Wuhan.
Also for this reason, in the team that will take care of them, there is a psychologist, the others are doctors and nurses. Health personnel who, in order to relate to them, will still have to wear masks, gloves and overalls. Prudence is obviously the rule.
