In Brønnøy municipality in Nordland, all municipal buildings are closed to all activity until further notice, the municipality states websites.
– We got an infected hit a couple of days ago, the person has also had a large circle of friends. That is why 300 people are now in the waiting quarantine, says mayor Eilif Trælnes to Dagbladet.
– We do not know where the infection comes from, or whether it is a mutated virus. Therefore, we are now introducing a full closure of the municipality, he continues.
Starter testing
He says that they have now detected six cases of infection this week, and that they are working full time with infection detection and getting everyone who is in quarantine tested.
– All must be tested. We just have to put in what we can to get it done, says Trælnes.
– No control

– Brønnøy municipality is in a serious situation. In the course of today alone, there have been five new cases, and we have no control over the source of infection, says municipal director Frank Nilssen.
Mayor Trælnes says that they do not rule out that there will be more cases of infection.

Urgent meeting
The municipality introduces a bandage and orders all businesses except certain exempt shops to close, writes Brønnøysunds Avis.
All schools and kindergartens in Brønnøy will be closed from Friday 12 March. It was approved by the municipal council on Thursday, and the closure will be in effect until 19 March.
The municipality has today had an extraordinary meeting of the municipal council regarding the unresolved infection situation. The meeting went behind closed doors, for reasons of privacy.
