So now: The federal government partially uses masks and explains how to wear them
The authorities fear that the population will become careless with the rules of conduct. After weeks of slaving around, they want to publish tips on wearing a mask for the first time.
Should you or shouldn’t you? The question of how well face masks protect against infection with the corona virus is controversial. The Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) is now reluctant to make such statements – after it has been spreading the directive for weeks that wearing a mask is of no use to the general public.
Experts are convinced that any protection is better than none. Wearing a face mask can make sense in everyday life to reduce the risk of infection, it is said unanimously by the responsible authorities in neighboring countries. The German epidemics even officially revised their recommendations.

Now a turnaround seems to be emerging in Switzerland too. As the editors of CH Media know, the BAG will launch new commercials for television and the Internet as well as advertisements and posters over the next few days – under the premise “Don’t let up now”. After the Federal Council informed on Thursday of the first easing of the Corona standstill, the campaign aims to disseminate new and existing rules of conduct.
The federal authorities also want to use the perseverance slogans to show the population how to wear masks correctly. Instructions are even said to be distributed on social media. The BAG confirms the information on request. A spokeswoman explains that you’re in the middle of production. “You will learn more about this in the coming days.”
So that the population does not become careless
The Federal Council informed on Thursday of the easing of the Corona standstill. Federal President Simonetta Sommaruga and Minister of Health Alain Berset praised the population for having so far adhered to the prescribed measures in an exemplary manner.
Far from public compliments, however, there is growing concern that the Swiss will become careless. The rules of social distancing “could no longer be followed by a growing section of the population,” says an internal federal warehouse report.

The BAG also publishes the new advertising messages against the background that in certain areas there will probably be a mask requirement or at least corresponding recommendations. According to Minister Berset, this is particularly conceivable for hairdressers and cosmetic salons, and possibly also for retail stores.
The Federal Council has not yet decided. In the next few days, he plans to work out protection concepts with the business community, which, depending on the industry, also include wearing masks. (aargauerzeitung.ch)
