Corona Virus: Egypt closes 23 medical facilities, Algeria records highest daily death rate

The Arab region witnessed on Sunday developments in the spread of the Corona virus, which included discovering new cases and an increase in the number of deaths in a number of countries in the region, most notably Algeria, which recorded the highest daily rate of deaths in the region.

It has also taken some measures that increase the restrictions imposed on the movement of citizens and normal life practices, most notably the prohibition of movement between several neighborhoods in the Saudi governorate of Jeddah.

Saudi

The Saudi Ministry of Health announced on Sunday the discovery of 206 new cases of Corona virus infection in Saudi Arabia, bringing the total cases to 2385 cases.

The number of deaths due to the global epidemic increased by 5 cases, bringing the total to 34 deaths.

The Saudi authorities also announced the imposition of further precautionary measures on some residential neighborhoods in Jeddah Governorate. These measures included preventing entry and exit from these neighborhoods, and the residents not leaving their homes except for necessity, such as receiving health care or providing necessary living supplies.

Egypt

Local authorities in Beni Suef, north of Upper Egypt, closed 23 medical facilities for not complying with the requirements of infection control and licenses, as part of the application of preventive and preventive measures against the Corona epidemic.

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi also ordered a medical examination for all workers and patients attending a major hospital in Cairo, and setting up immediate medical procedures for isolation and treatment for any positive cases.

The Beni Suef Health Directorate has formed a traffic committee for a number of private hospitals to ensure the application of infection control standards, preventive means and prevent gatherings, as well as follow up on private clinics and laboratory laboratories to ensure that curfews are implemented.

The closure included medical facilities in the Al-Wasiti, Nasser and Beni Suef centers in the city.

Algeria

The Algerian Ministry of Health announced the death of 25 people with the Coruna virus last Saturday, indicating the highest daily death rate for the global epidemic in the Arab region, according to the official website of the Algerian radio.

The Algerian radio report added that the health authorities have discovered 90 new cases, making the total confirmed cases in the country 1251 cases.

The total number of deaths, after recording the highest daily rate in Algeria, is 130.

Kuwait

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health said on its account on the social networking site Twitter Sunday that it had discovered 77 new cases infected with Corona virus, bringing the total number of infected to 556 cases.

UAE

The UAE Ministry of Health and Community Protection announced that it recorded 241 new cases infected with Corona virus last Saturday, in addition to one death.

The UAE ministry added that the total confirmed injuries in the country amounted to 1505 cases, while the number of deaths increased by one case, which the authorities said was of Arab nationality, bringing the total deaths in the UAE to ten cases.

Palestinian territories

The Director of the Palestinian Ministry of Health, Kamal Al-Shakhra, announced on Sunday that he had recorded 9 new infections with the Coruna virus, bringing the number of infections in the Palestinian territories to 226.

He explained that the new injuries were distributed in Ramallah, the village of Barta’a in Jenin, Rafat, Qatana, Al-Jadira, and Kafr Aqab, near the city of Jerusalem.
