The outlines are blurred, the image flickers – then emerges

in front of a virtual wall of leaves. “Hello, can you hear me?” Asks Mike Singer. He often repeated the question, because the Bavarian Prime Minister obviously had technical difficulties with the live stream on Instagram. In a short conversation on Wednesday morning, Söder answered questions about the corona vaccination from fans of the DSDS juror.

The 21-year-old singer had said positive about the vaccination a month ago. “Dear Mr. Söder, if I don’t take a vaccination away from anyone, I would like to be vaccinated. So where should I go?”, Singer wrote on his Instagram profile. He has had a corona infection himself and thinks the possibility of a vaccination is “unbelievable”.

Söder speaks about the corona vaccination on “Insta-Live”

Singer, who is followed by around 1.5 million people on Instagram, is concerned with the topic: “I notice that even people my age don’t believe in it.” For this reason, he wanted to speak about it publicly and let people be more open to the vaccination. He is ready for the vaccination. Would Söder also be vaccinated? “When it’s my turn, absolutely,” replied the Prime Minister. He himself had received all the usual vaccinations and “always digested them well”.

Söder showed understanding for the tense mood: “This is a difficult transition period. I understand that young people in particular are totally annoyed by the whole thing.” The corona vaccinations mean freedom soon, you have to endure time. The question of when will be normal again, According to Singer, many of his fans are busy: “Are we so far with the vaccinations in the summer that we can travel again?”

Patience is important now – and some effort. Söder was emphatically youthful: “I would still be a little more careful this summer. So I wouldn’t put absolute super party fun first.” Nevertheless, the chances are good that more will be possible in the summer than now.

Söder keeps breaking off: Technical problems in the State Chancellery?

In the middle of the stream, the Prime Minister’s image froze. Singer restarted the live stream with Söder, a few seconds later the video broke off again. Salmon smileys and jokes about the technical problems piled up in the comments. “Söder, when will the good internet in Bavaria come?” Joked one user. “Unfortunately, your connection is not that good,” said Singer. The Prime Minister replied firmly: “Mine is good!”. He was sitting in the State Chancellery, everything was well equipped there, you could hear him say – while his picture dissolved into colorful pixels.

He quickly fell out of the statesmanlike role, spoke faster and laughed. “Everyone around me is already nervous if the connection doesn’t work out. They’re all afraid that they’ll get into trouble with the Prime Minister.” Until the end of the conversation, there were repeated short interruptions, once Söder justified the problem with an incoming call. Mike Singer bridged the breaks with a smile – in perfect video quality.
