Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – A number of employees at the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health of the Ministry of Agriculture were found to be positively infected with the corona virus (Covid-19). One of the buildings at the Ministry of Agriculture’s head office, Ragunan, South Jakarta, will be closed starting today.
The Director General of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health (Dirjen PKH), Nasrullah, confirmed that a number of his employees were exposed to Covid-19.
Previously there were reports that 19 PKH Directorate General employees tested positive for Covid-19. Therefore, it is said that all areas in the PKH Directorate General complex will be subject to a lockdown starting today. However, Nasrullah denied that the cessation of activities was imposed on all buildings.
“Only building C is locked down. This is done so that the spread does not occur in building C and that is a plan for only 3 days while evaluating its progress,” he told CNBC Indonesia, Monday (24/8/2020).
Unfortunately, he is reluctant to state the exact number of employees who have been confirmed positive so far. “Still waiting for the results of the swab test,” said Nasrullah.
However, he confirmed that those who were confirmed positive for COVID-19 were not only employees at the Directorate General. There were also employees at other DGs who were infected.
“Because some people have been hit by several people, both at (Ditjen) PKH and at (Ditjen) Plantation and currently there is a swab test,” he explained.
