Corona: one death reported in Limburg

In the past 24 hours, one person died in Limburg from the consequences of corona. The death occurred in South Limburg.

This is evident from the most recent figures from both GGDs. No deaths were reported in North / Central Limburg. In total, 689 people have succumbed to the virus infection in the province to date: 393 in South and 296 in North / Central.

North and Central Limburg had no new hospital admissions in the past 24 hours, South Limburg eight. A total of 1727 Limburgers were or were admitted. The number of positive tests rose by twelve in the South, by five in the North / Middle, to 4,710 province-wide.

Every day we get a lot of questions about the updates we bring regarding the corona virus. We have collected the most frequently asked questions below:

Why don’t you publish figures on the number of patients healed?

That is not known at the moment. There is no obligation to report that people have been cured from the disease. A person who has no complaints for 24 hours is considered cured. These figures are therefore not maintained by RIVM.

Why is there a deviation between the figures of the RIVM and the GGD?

RIVM collects data from the regional GGDs and publishes this in a daily update. We have regular contact with the GGD Noord-Limburg and Zuid-Limburg to request an up-to-date score. These figures are often slightly ahead of the figures published daily by RIVM. This may cause an interim difference between the figures of RIVM, the GGD and possibly other (Limburg) media.

How should I interpret these numbers?

The number of reported patients and deceased patients may differ per day for various reasons. For example, we see that deceased patients are not always reported on the same day. The actual number of infections with the new coronavirus is higher than the number mentioned here. This is because not everyone is tested with a possible infection, but especially patients who are so ill that they are hospitalized and people who work in healthcare.
