The state government wants to issue a new corona ordinance on Thursday. In circles with a stable incidence below 100, the gastronomy in South Baden will probably be able to welcome guests again.
The new Corona regulation should bring gradual easing of the corona measures. According to this, the catering trade in South Baden could be allowed to reopen under certain conditions on Saturday, but also the retail trade. The new regulation is currently in the state government in the so-called departmental coordination between the ministries. Last Thursday, the Ministry of Social Affairs announced its draft for “graduated opening steps”.
Among other things, the opening of the outdoor catering, the retail trade and the baths were mentioned for the first step. According to the draft, this can be implemented in all urban and rural districts in which the corona incidence is below 100 for five days.
As was learned from well-informed circles in Stuttgart on Tuesday, indoor catering has also been added to the list for the first opening step in the departmental vote. According to this, catering establishments should be allowed to receive one guest for every five square meters or part thereof indoors and one guest for every 2.5 square meters or part thereof in the outdoor area. A test and a hygiene concept should be mandatory. Access would then only be possible with a negative corona test, confirmation of recovery or full vaccination protection.
It is not yet certain whether the current draft will be implemented in this way. According to the state government’s schedule, the regulation is to be passed by the cabinet on Thursday and put into effect. On Friday, the rural and urban districts could determine that the incidence condition was met with them, and the ordinance would apply locally from Saturday.
In Sdbaden, the urban district of Freiburg and the districts of Lrrach, Emmendingen and Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald are currently stable below 100. The latter had to take some easing back after the current Corona regulation because it got over the limit of 50 again.
In addition to the southern Baden districts, the first opening step is currently only possible in a few other districts such as the district of Heidelberg.
Baden-Wrttemberg follows with the opening plans of federal states such as Bavaria and Berlin. Federal Health Minister Jens Spahn (CDU) warned on Tuesday of carelessness at the Corona openings. “Otherwise it will catch up with us too quickly,” he said.
