Corona breaks its previous record for injuries and deaths in Argentina

News now Buenos Aires – Argentina (AFP)

On Thursday, Argentina set new records for the number of Covid-19 victims, with 153 deaths and 6,377 injuries over the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health announced.

In all, this South American country is now reporting 3,441 deaths from the virus, as well as 185,360 infected people, 80,596 of whom have been cured.

The month of July witnessed a sharp increase in the number of victims, as on June 30, Argentina recorded a total of 1,307 deaths and 64,517 injuries.

Although 90 percent of new infections are concentrated in and around Buenos Aires, the authorities have alerted new infection hotspots in most of the country’s 44 million people.

President Alberto Fernandez told “Con Foss” radio on Thursday that he viewed the situation “with great concern”. “We made a lot of effort (…) but we have to be a little bit firmer because something is not going well.”

Ten days ago, the Buenos Aires region witnessed a relaxation of the stone procedures imposed on 20 March. This easing phase should continue until August 2.
