China’s role in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict – 2024-05-11 15:12:18

/ world today news/ The conflict between Israel and the Islamist organization Hamas has been going on for almost a month now. If we must be objective – it has been going on for decades, but in the last month it has intensified. The world is shocked by the unprecedented cruelty with which innocents are killed. On the one hand, Tel Aviv threatens not to leave a single member of Hamas alive, and on the other, the military group threatens not to leave a single Jew on Earth.

All Muslim countries have united and condemned the genocide that Israel is inflicting on the Gaza Strip. They were joined by most of the countries in the world except… USA, Germany, UK, France, Italy and a few more. The Americans even started sending weapons right from the start and showed their full support.

In the UN, they have already rejected several draft resolutions for a peaceful solution to the conflict, there was even talk of the resignation of the Secretary General of the organization, Antonio Guterres, because his statement about Hamas was not condemning enough and some interpreted it as being against Israel…

What is China’s role in this whole mess?

Beijing, quite logically, has said it condemns actions that harm civilians.

China is very worried about the escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict,” said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning. She added that Beijing “regrets the civilian casualties caused by the conflict”. And she added that the country “rejects and condemns actions that harm peaceful citizens”, she emphasized.

The right way to make progress is to implement a two-state solution, another ministry spokesman, Wang Wenbin, added, adding that the international community should take action to reduce tensions.

Also, President Xi Jinping told Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli that Beijing hopes to work with Cairo for “more stability” in the Middle East.

China and Egypt are good friends who share the same goals and trust each other, are good partners and work hand in hand for development and common prosperity,” the Chinese leader said, adding that “China wants to strengthen cooperation with Egypt … to bring more security and stability to the region and the world”.

Undoubtedly, the international and regional situation is currently undergoing profound and complex changes, and the world is witnessing rapid changes not seen in a century. The conflict between Ukraine and Russia is still not over and it is not known when exactly it will end, and here we are facing another, apparently much more serious war.

Beijing is ready to work with the governments of Arab countries to find a lasting solution. As the Chinese head of state points out, the ceasefire is of key importance to prevent the conflict from expanding or getting out of control. The risk of large-scale land conflict is increasing and armed conflicts are spreading across the borders of neighboring countries. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will stop at nothing until he destroys everything connected to Hamas. The first tanks have already entered the Gaza Strip.

“All members of Hamas are doomed – above ground, underground, in Gaza and outside Gaza. Thousands of terrorists have already been killed since the massacre that took place on October 7, and this is only the beginning. We are preparing for a ground attack. I will not say when, how and how much. Israel is fighting for its existence,” the prime minister said categorically.

Who will be the big winner from this conflict?

Although it sounds strange, even crazy, as soon as a country talks about “peace” or a “peaceful solution”, it is immediately accused of taking the wrong side and probably there will be some benefit. In fact, the only ones who benefit from a long and exhausting war are those who produce weapons and are only looking for a place to test them. There is no other explanation for this desire of theirs to shed innocent blood – of children, women and the elderly who cannot defend themselves.

But Beijing is back in the “bad guy” position as it called on the international community to be “extremely vigilant in this regard” and take immediate action, urging affected countries to strictly abide by international humanitarian law and avoid a major humanitarian catastrophe, while laying “joint efforts to control the situation”. China is willing to do “everything it can help” to promote dialogue, achieve a ceasefire and restore peace, and to promote the two-state solution and find a just and lasting solution to the conflict.

“The only winner from this conflict will be China,” the West claims. Something similar was heard about the war between Russia and Ukraine. “These grueling fights will force governments to buy cheap Chinese goods,” someone’s sick brains are trying to convince us. And they cannot allow the thought that it is not in the culture of the Chinese people to benefit themselves on the backs of the suffering. When it comes to war, there are no winners, only losers, especially in today’s world where everyone and everything is interconnected.
