GARDERMOEN (Dagbladet): An armada with Norwegian winter pensioners from Gran Canaria and Spain to Gardermoen night to Sunday:
Home for Easter as usual, many will receive a covid-19 vaccine and have control that the annual quota of 180 days abroad does not exceed.
Among them Kjell Tore Olsen (73), former sales manager in the IT company Evry – the man who has raised its critical voice the most about how bad Norwegian long-term tourists should have been received at Gardermoen with corona test and quarantine.
Then the same, critical Olsen comes out smiling from customs with his arm up, as if Norsk Tipping has just called for a big win in Lotto.
What happened?
Then her friend Eva Trøan (75) comes just as happy.
– We can go straight home
– Everything is in order, the tests were negative, the papers in order, we release the hotel quarantine and can go straight home to empty and infection-free apartments in Ski and Langhus, the couple explains in chorus.
Much has become better in control at Gardermoen than Olsen, Trøan and several hundred Norwegian overwinterers on the holiday island have received descriptions of in the last couple of weeks.
– It only took 20 minutes from we were tested until the result came. And then it was important that we had all health papers with us and that we could answer questions about medical records in helsenorge.no and so on, they say.
That is the key to whether it was considered a “necessary” or “unnecessary” trip when they went south just over the New Year.
– And that again has a bearing on whether we had to be in quarantine hotels or be able to go straight home. This is an important tip for everyone who is going to travel now with corona and quarantine – have health information and papers ready, is the advice after the surprisingly positive experience they had at Gardermoen.
Will be followed to quarantine bus
Otherwise, the arrival hall abroad on the very Easter-quiet Gardermoen night until Palm Sunday gave the impression of close control of arriving passengers who are subject to quarantine hotels.
A corps of guards followed quarantine passengers through customs and straight to buses in the direction of the hotels.
This was the last weekend with a three-day quarantine at a hotel. From Monday, the authorities’ requirements have been tightened to a minimum of seven days.
Unnecessary? The municipality takes over the responsibility
If the police find that your trip has been necessary, you can move freely down to the luggage hall where you must be tested before you can leave the airport.
If the police find that your trip has been unnecessary, you have now become Ullensaker municipality’s responsibility.
– Assessing whether a trip is unnecessary or necessary can be demanding, says police inspector Ragnhild Aass in the Eastern police district.
