Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud Md visited the Cathedral Church on Jl. Cathedral No.7B, Pasar Baru, Sawah Besar District, Central Jakarta. Mahfud had time to greet the congregation who were holding Christmas Eve Mass.
Monitoring detikcom at the location, Sunday (24/12/2023), Mahfud was seen arriving at 19.12 WIB. He came wearing a batik patterned shirt.
Mahfud, who is also vice presidential candidate (Cawapres) number 3, was seen greeting the ranks of the priests at the Cathedral Church. He was also seen greeting the congregation at Christmas Mass at the Cathedral Church. Several members of the congregation greeted him with applause.
It is known that the Jakarta Cathedral is providing 3,172 seats for the congregation at the 2023 Christmas celebration. This year’s Christmas theme is ‘Glory to Allah and Peace on Earth’.
Of the 3,172 seats provided, they are divided into 800 for the inside area of the Cathedral Church, 550 for the outer area at Plaza Maria and Maria Cave, 1536 tent seats, and the ground floor Youth Graha 286 seats. However, the Cathedral Church also provides 3,500 reserve seats.
