Controversy Surrounding Cian Uijtdebroeks’ Transfer Flares Up: Bullying Allegations and Legal Battle Emerge

The switch of Cian Uijtdebroeks from BORA-hansgrohe to Visma | Lease a Bike continues to cause a stir. Journalist Thijs Zonneveld from the AD reported earlier today that the Belgian was bullied in the German team. According to former rider Bernhard Eisel, who is currently team leader at BORA-hansgrohe, this is not true.

Eisel says he is “tired” of the whole saga. “I would say we did three times as much as we did for Aleks. If that’s not enough, things get difficult. As far as support goes, it was one hundred percent for him in the race. I don’t want to say more. We did what we could and that’s it.”

Eisel cannot yet say much about the outcome of the case. “We have a statement that he is under contract with us and Jumbo says that he has signed with them. It will go to court. That’s where we are right now.”
