In a surprising move, Tucker Carlson, the controversial host of Fox News, has parted ways with the network. This announcement comes just days after Fox settled a defamation lawsuit with Dominion voting systems for a whopping $787.5 million. Fox News Media confirmed the news in a statement, noting that Carlson’s last episode aired on Friday. Starting Monday, a rotating cast of personalities will temporarily fill his time slot until a new permanent host is selected. Carlson had been with Fox since 2009, garnering a massive following and becoming one of the network’s top stars with his show Tucker Carlson Tonight. However, his on-air rhetoric and stance on various issues, including his reliance on xenophobia and stoking of white fears about America’s changing demographics, have landed him in hot water in recent times. The New York Times called his show the “most racist show in the history of cable news.” Carlson also faces a lawsuit from a former senior booking producer on his show, Abby Grossberg, who alleges she faced sexism and a hostile work environment.
