Content and term Death Stranding: Director’s Cut

Yesterday’s State of Play brought not only a new one trailer, but also the exact release date of the expanded PS5 version of the game: we’ll see it on Friday, September 24th. The trailer itself contains a list and examples of individual improvements or news, of which the fans will probably be most pleased with the new story missions.

New content and details of Death Stranding: Director’s Cut:

• Improved combat system (new grips and weapons)
• New battles (according to the example, this probably means new bosses?)
• Shooting range for testing weapons
• New modes of transport: cargo catapult, jumping ramps, robot carrier
• New racing mode
• New story missions
• Fidelity mode: Native 4K, ultra wide & HDR support
• Performance mód: 4K, 60FPS
• DualSense: use of haptics & adaptive triggers
• Almost instant recording
• PS4 transfer saved position
• $ 10 upgrade price for PS4 version owners
• It will also include Half-Life and Cyberpunk 2077 content from the PC version of the game
• There will also be a Digital Deluxe Edition with a number of bonuses

Kojima Productions was released short on the official Youtube video with answers to fan questions. It’s hard to believe that Death Stranding came out before the coronavirus pandemic – because its topic seems to have predicted it to some degree. The quality of this game during the mandatory social distance in the past two years has been appreciated by many additional players, but before 2019 it won the most awards for game of the year (and in 2020 also the price for the best PC game according to the votes of millions of players in the Golden Joystick poll).
