SEOUL, Jan. 19 (Yonhap) – Washing machines from South Korean manufacturers LG Electronics Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co. were voted “best washing machines of 2021” by US magazine Consumer Reports, the industry reported on Tuesday.

The magazine rated the wash capacity, life and energy efficiency of washers for sale in the U.S. market in four categories: front-loading washing machines, top-loading washing machines, agitator washing machines and compact washing machines.

LG’s products took the lead in the top three categories while a Samsung machine took the top spot in the compact category.

Notably, the Top 5 front-loading washing machines were fully occupied by LG machines with the LG WM3900HWA at the top.

The LG WT7900HBA was the top product in the top-opening washing machine category and the LG WT7305CW among the agitator washers.

LG also dominated the top two categories last year, but this is the first time the brand has taken the lead in agitator washing machines. The segment was largely dominated by American manufacturers such as Whirlpool before the South Korean giant’s arrival last September.

The Samsung WW22N6850QX was voted best compact washing machine.
