Constantin Film Head Confirms Til Schweiger’s Alcohol Addiction and Aggressive Behavior on Set

Since a week ago a “Spiegel” article was published about the actor and producer Til Schweiger (59), in which his alleged alcohol addiction is discussed, more and more voices are coming up to comment on it. The 59-year-old was also accused of bullying and aggressive behavior on the film set in this article. Allegations that Til Schweiger had his lawyer deny.

Specifically, the incidents are said to have occurred in his latest film “Manta, Manta – Zwoter Teil”, a Constantin production. Schweiger is said to have become violent towards an employee of the company. Constantin himself explained that the statements in the “Spiegel” article were “predominantly incomplete and distorting, and in some cases simply wrong”.

But now Martin Moszkowicz (65), head of the Constantin company, who “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung given an interview by stating that there was actually some truth to the allegations. Because during the production of Schweiger’s latest film, there were “very regrettable incidents”.

The Constantin boss explains it to the “FAZ” as follows: “Before the shooting on July 21, 2022, Til Schweiger – apparently heavily intoxicated – was prevented by a Constantin Film employee from starting work on the location.” Then there was an argument, Moszkowicz said.

Filming was interrupted that day. “Regardless of his condition, Til Schweiger also sustained an injury to his face during the night. In the event of physical violence on location, we issue a warning – including here – with the threat of termination and compensation in the event of a repeat offense,” continues the Constantin boss gone. There were no other such incidents, Moszkowicz said. All allegations that are in the room are currently being checked by an “external compliance analysis of the shooting”. This is done by an independent law firm.

When asked about the nude scene, which Til Schweiger is said to have spontaneously initiated according to “Spiegel”, Moszkowicz explained that they had already tried to speak to the young extra, but unfortunately without success. “So we don’t know how she felt and feels about it, but regardless of that, it’s an unacceptable incident,” said the Constantin boss. Because with such a nude scene there are guidelines to be followed, which were probably disregarded here in any case, since the scene was not in the script. “This will also be analyzed in the report we commissioned and we will do everything we can to prevent such cases in the future.”

There shouldn’t be any new projects with actor Til Schweiger for the time being. Nevertheless, Moszkowicz hopes that “Til will get his problems under control”.
