Delhi: Rajeev Shukla, former IPL chairman and BCCI vice-president, talks about the religion of four Indian players after India’s legendary series win over Australia. Rajeev Shukla’s congratulatory tweet says that the people of different religions played together and won for India.
Rishabh Pant Hindu, Muhammad Siraj Muslim, Shubhman Gil Sikh, Washington Sunder Christian. Rajiv Shukla tweeted that they have won India together.
Rishabh Panth .. #Hindu
Siraj ..#Muslim
Subhaman Gill ..#Sikh
Washington Sundar ..# Christian
Together they all #India Conquered ..! ????????
Both these messages have been sent to me by one of my @ friends. What is your opinion?– Rajeev Shukla (@ShuklaRajiv) January 25, 2021
Rajiv Shukla, however, has been widely criticized for saying that Washington Sunder is not a Christian. Fans took to the stage with criticism and trolls against Shukla’s tweet.
Shukla had earlier tweeted that the Indian midfield could have won if they had played a little better after the Sydney Test draw. Shukla’s tweet came after he scored a winning draw on the verge of defeat.
Actually the middle order could have performed little better and we would have won the match. @BCCI
