Containment can have good sides, it can even make rich! While playing, two children discovered a little treasure.
In France, before the start of confinement, a Parisian family left to settle in a second home in the Center-Val-de-Loire region.
They wanted to build a cabin
Once installed in their grandmother’s former home, the two children of the family, aged about ten, embarked on the construction of a cabin. They asked their father what they could use. The man told them to go and get some sheets that belonged to their grandma. But by moving the sheets, the children dropped two particularly heavy objects on the floor.
“We will be able to have a swimming pool”
Having heard of this discovery, the father contacted an auctioneer. His verdict is final: the children found two gold bars, thinking one kilo each. Purchased in 1967 by the grandmother, the two ingots still have their purchase certificate.
They will go on sale next month. They could allow the family to touch a little more than 100,000 €. “We will be able to have a swimming pool,” shouted the children when the ingots were appraised, remembers the auctioneer.
