Concert of violinist Madara Liepina and pianist Daumants Liepins / Article / LSM.lv

On Monday, November 9, at 6 pm, brother and sister – violinist Madara Liepiņa and pianist Daumants Liepiņš will give concerts in the 1st studio of Latvian Radio.

The live broadcast of the concert can be listened to on the air of Latvijas Radio 3 “Klasika”, but it can be watched on the page of Latvijas Radio 3 on the website “Facebook” and on the public media portal LSM.lv.

LR3 program manager Orest Silabriedis will talk to the musicians.

In the program: Olivier Messiah’s “Theme and Variations”, Igor Stravinsky’s “Italian Suite” from the ballet “Pulchinella”, Tomazo Antonio Vitali Chacon for violin and piano, and Maurice Ravel’s Sonatine in fadminminor for piano.

Madara Liepiņa studied violin after studying at the Latvian Academy of Music in Italy with the famous teacher Roberto Mutoni; she has also participated and won prizes in many international competitions in Italy and elsewhere in the world, after schooling in Italy, the musician has now returned home to Latvia.

Daumants Liepiņš is one of the most outstanding young Latvian pianists; In 2019, Daumants won the prestigious “Vendome Prize” competition, having the opportunity to give a solo concert at the Verbye Festival and record the album “Steinway” in the record company. In 2017, the musician received the “Grand Music Award 2016” in the category “Young Artist of the Year”. He has also won first places and audience awards at many international competitions: the Maria Canal International Competition in Barcelona, ​​the George Enescu Competition, the Geneva Piano Competition and elsewhere, as well as playing regularly with the best-known European symphony orchestras.

The concert is supported by the State Cultural Capital Fund.
