Not so good writers?
Where a series is normally led by a showrunner, it is different with the series from Marvel Studios. The writer normally has an important role, but in the Marvel Studios series it is there for the director. Marvel approaches its series as long films and therefore the creative choices have to be made differently according to various stakeholders.
But writers who spoke anonymously with Variety express concerns about this. “At a certain point they will suffer from this when they search for the best writers. If you are a mid-range writer and you get the huge chance to make a Marvel series, of course you will. Marvel often relies in its films on directors who are not very well known and successful at first. For example, the Russo brothers, who at that time still mainly directed comedy series, were recruited and turned them into big stars.
