Comrade Duch is dead. Duch – real name: Kaing Guek Eav – was one of the Khmer Rouge camp commanders in Cambodia in the 1970s. Responsible for the martyrdom of at least 14,000 fellow countrymen in the infamous Tuol Sleng prison. Crimes against humanity for which he was sentenced to life. He was 77 years old.
