“Compliant Eggs Found in Four Municipalities, Private Hen Samples Show Need for Further Testing”

They can peck in peace. The hens from Charly, Vourles, Solaize and Brignais lay compliant eggs with regard to the level of perfluorinated pollution.

Reassuring results

The regional prefecture indicates that the analyzes carried out at four breeders in these municipalities do not show that the PFAS content is too high with regard to European regulations. Four main PFAS (or perfluorinated) were measured. The prefecture does not provide details of these results, but ensures that none of the four is present in excess.

Breeders and town halls have just been informed of these reassuring results for consumers. Until now, the analyzes carried out on the eggs of hens of private individuals were much less so. In Oullins and Pierre-Bénite, the 16 samples taken proved to be non-compliant; in Irigny, 7 out of 9; in Saint-Genis-Laval 2 out of 4.

Expanded search scope

Since April 3, the scope of research on these private hens has widened to 12 new municipalities : Brignais, Chaponost, Charly, Feyzin, Francheville, La Mulatière, Lyon (7e et 8e arrondissements), Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon, Saint-Fons, Solaize, Vernaison, Vourles. According to our information, the samples will take place during the week of May 22 to 29.
