Compliance with the quarantine is not checked. There are no forces

Only people living alone, who have no one to buy or take out the dog, can leave their home for the necessary time, and also, exceptionally, paramedics, necessary for the operation of hospitals.

Although there are more than enough cases of quarantine violations, so far only one case has been tried at the end of September. A 32-year-old woman was sentenced to three years in prison. What hurt her the most was that she went to the grocery store and didn’t have a veil. Apparently it was reported by neighbors.

The Police of the Czech Republic is to help

Hygienists are responsible for checking compliance with the quarantine, but they no longer know where their head is. Not to mention snooping on irresponsible fellow citizens.

The hygiene station decided in the spring whether you had to quarantine. Now a positive test result for covid-19 automatically leads to the start of home quarantine for ten days. In its current critical situation, its entry and observance is the personal responsibility of the infected person.

“Violation of the ordered quarantine can result in a fine of up to three million crowns, and its violation can also be punished retroactively. Compliance with the quarantine is supervised by regional hygienic stations in cooperation with the Police of the Czech Republic. Information on the results of inspections is under their responsibility, “Kryštof Berka, spokesman for the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic, told Práva.

On the resort’s website, in the section What to do when I’m in quarantine? you will immediately learn that the capacities of hygienists are, of course, not such as to check everyone who is in quarantine, for example, daily.

“First of all, it relies on everyone’s personal responsibility, because by keeping quarantine, you protect not only yourself, but above all your loved ones, your surroundings and, ultimately, society as a whole,” the Ministry of Health writes in the guidelines.

Alien Police in Prague

Some regional hygienes collapsed weeks ago. In recent days, reinforcements from soldiers and police officers, even employees from the regional office in Zlín, have headed for their desks and telephones. Students of medical schools and social services and university students across disciplines also help in calling infected people and their contacts. They can therefore probably only dream of free capacities for inspections.

But the state police are not much better off. In the capital, the Aliens Police took over duties from the Special Law Enforcement Unit, which dealt with inspections in the spring.

“Until now, the observance of quarantines in all households, hostels and hotels is checked by the Aliens Police. They work on the basis of a request from hygienists, who will give them a list of people, “said Eva Kropáčová, a spokeswoman for the Prague police, specifying the current division of forces, adding that other colleagues were involved in helping hygienists with telephone calls.

This is also the case in the rest of the republic, for example in Liberec or Brno, where, according to spokesman Pavel Šváb, 17 police officers help the headquarters of the hygiene of the South Moravian Region and another 41 are trained to make phone calls.

“Due to the high dynamics of daily increases, it is not possible for the public health authority to systematically monitor compliance with the quarantine conditions. Cases of violation of isolation conditions (for positively tested) or quarantine (for preventive reasons) are detected by the Police of the Czech Republic during random control activities or in connection with the investigation of another offense, or on the basis of a complaint, “Kvetoslava Kotrbová, director of KHS South Bohemia, told Práva.

People are no longer reporting

Reporting, at least to the same extent as in the spring, is not happening now, according to the experience of a spokesman for the Prague City Police. “Although it is our responsibility to control compliance with the measures outside, in the spring of the first wave, 156 people called our line during the first wave, who also reported non-compliance with quarantine and other transgressions. But now we do not record any similar announcements, “Irena Seifertová, a spokeswoman for the Prague City Police, told Práva.
