Community budget – Schwabhausen has to take out large loans – Dachau

In the coming year, Schwabhausen will have to reckon with a further decrease in income from trade tax and also with lower income from income tax participation. In total, around 450,000 euros in tax revenue in 2021 compared to the previous year should be missing from the municipal coffers.

This situation is also taken into account in the budget for next year, which has now been dealt with in the municipal council plenary. It comprises 14.44 million euros in the administrative part and 7.29 million euros in the assets part. The latter can only be offset with withdrawals from the reserves. For urgent tasks in the area of water supply and wastewater participation, loans amounting to several million euros must be taken out.

“In these times it is necessary to question every investment,” says Mayor Wolfgang Hörl (BBA) about the budget situation. The planned sports hall extension was therefore the focus of the budget debate. The finance committee of the municipal council recommended that the renovation of the existing part of the hall be brought forward and that the expansion plans only be implemented in the next step.

This met with resistance in particular from the UBV and also from some CSU municipal councils. They fear that the plans for the cultivation will be put on hold in the longer term. Wolfgang Hörl emphatically denies this. “The overall concept is not called into question, it is all about the sequence of the measures,” he emphasizes. Finally, the overall concept was submitted to the district office as a plan. In addition, the costs for preparatory work such as laying cables for the cultivation are included in the budget for 2021. Most recently, the advocates of early hall renovation prevailed against seven representatives from the UBV and CSU.

The overall renovation of the community building complex on Kirchenstrasse, which houses the VHS and the Juz, among other things, has been postponed for the time being. A working group that has now been established will look for “optimal solutions” – possibly also elsewhere – for current users, says Hörl. So it is conceivable to integrate the Juz in the area of the school and sports grounds, where there are more infrastructural possibilities for young people.
