According to a committee, two of the boys who were blamed for the murder of five-year-old Silje Marie Redergård in Trondheim in 1994 received too little follow-up from child protection.

The report was submitted on Tuesday, according to TV 2.

“The children did not receive the necessary help and follow-up they needed and demanded according to current child welfare legislation,” it says.

In 1994, a six-year-old, together with two other playmates, was named by the police as guilty of the death of her friend Silje Marie Redergård.

The five-year-old girl was found dead in a toboggan run at Tiller in Trondheim on Saturday 15 October 1994.

Last year, the case was dropped again. The public prosecutor in Trøndelag then decided to uphold the closure from 1994, but emphasized that the three boys who were blamed for the five-year-old’s death should be considered innocent.
