“Commemoration of Victory Day 1945: Chartres Pays Tribute to Fallen Heroes and 80th Anniversary of Jean Moulin’s Death”

The traditional ceremony commemorating the victory of May 8, 1945 took place this Monday evening, in Chartres, on the path of memory. First in front of the imposing monument to the dead of the Second World War, butte des Charbonniers, then, as is tradition, in front of the Jean-Moulin monument.

In Dreux, young people are on the front line

With, this year, a somewhat special dimension, since it is the 80th anniversary of the death of the former prefect of Eure-et-Loir during the occupation.

More wreaths were laid in front of this monument, located Place De Gaulle. Shortly before, young people in civic service read the message from the French Union of Associations of Combatants and War Victims, which castigates the war which “sets Europe’s doors ablaze”, and “once again the sad procession of dead, refugees with human distress and destruction…”
