The WhatsApp development team is at full capacity this December. A few days ago we showed you the new interface for voice calls that was tested in the beta of the application. An interface that goes very well with the design changes that WhatsApp has offered us over the past few months. Two new features were introduced in the latest beta update to the messaging app: the animation of all the emoji of hearts regardless of its color and the new function for Respond to messages with emojis.

WhatsApp is testing message response as its next big feature

The news reached WhatsApp’s public beta even over the Christmas holidays, they comment WABetaInfo. The new update contains two new features. Next, the widespread animation of emojis of hearts of all colors. So far only the red heart has been animated to simulate a constant beating when we sent it to a chat. However, the rest of the hearts of other colors were not animated and remained small and motionless. This new update contains animations for all of these color variations.

The other novelty lies in a feature that is well known on other platforms: Responding to messages. With this new function, the users of a group you can respond to a specific message with emojis. The number of reactive emojis is limited to 6 for the time being. It is clear, however, that this feature has a lot of future and the number of emojis will expand as it goes on. In the function menu we see which emojis were selected and which people in the group reacted to them.

These features, as we say, are only available on iOS and in the beta version of WhatsApp. It is likely that we will see them on our screens in the coming months. However, there is still a long way to go before Mark Zuckerberg’s company polishes all the details and decides to launch the features publicly, globally, and officially.
