Exclusive: Comedian Chelsea Handler’s Experience with Prescription Drug Ozempic
Comedian Unveils Unexpected Prescription
Ozempic, a prescription medication, has taken comedian Chelsea Handler by surprise. During a recent episode of Call Her Daddy, Handler revealed that her “anti-aging doctor” prescribed her the medication without fully understanding its purpose.
An Unplanned Encounter
To her surprise, Handler was unaware that she had been on the medication, exclaiming, “I didn’t even know I was on it.” According to Handler, her doctor had suggested the drug as a solution to shed a few pounds.
Anxious Feelings
After experimenting with the medication, Handler expressed her dissatisfaction with the way it affected her well-being. Recounting her experience, she said, “I came back from a vacation and I injected myself with it. I went to lunch with a girlfriend a few days later, and she was like, ‘I’m not really eating anything. I’m so nauseous, I’m on Ozempic.’ And I was like, ‘I’m kind of nauseous too.’ But I had just come back from Spain and was jet-lagged.”
No Longer Necessary
Handler ultimately decided to discontinue the use of Ozempic as it was not medically essential for her. She even shared the remaining doses with her friends. She said, “I’ve injected about four or five of my friends with Ozempic because I realized I didn’t want to use it because it was silly. It’s for heavy people. I have people coming over to my house, and I’m like, ‘OK, I can see you at 1, I can see you at 2.'”
