Pop-rock team Os Azeitonas turned popular in 2009 with the theme “Come with me to see the planes”, but it was much from imagining that their most important “competition” would arrive within the University of Aveiro, more precisely from the FISUA – Physics Affiliation of the College of Aveiro, which given that 1993 has been doing the job for the dissemination of astronomy. Taking edge of the existence of quite a few telescopes acquired by the Physics Division, a team of college students, with the collaboration of the amateur astronomer José Augusto Matos, starts to consider the to start with techniques in the dissemination of astronomy with the marketing of observation periods all over the region, hard people today to see the … planets, the stars, the moon … and almost everything in between.

They promptly joined the “Astronomy in summertime” application (then referred to as “Astronomy on the beach locations”) and, shortly following, a portable planetarium was acquired, capable to boost actions for universities, municipal councils, laboratories, courses and “workshops”, and take part , every yr, at “Astronomia no Verão”, with the assist of Ciência Viva – Nationwide Company for Scientific and Technological Society.
