From July 25 to August 19, Scopeli welcomes Thibaut Couturier, 37 years old, on Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. His photographs of nature, colorful and poetic, take the visitor on a journey around a sometimes very close world. Self-taught photographer, Thibaut Couturier lives today from his passion.
How was this passion for photography born?
Thibaut Couturier : “I started during the first confinement; famous revealer and accelerator of inner development for many people. I had a sudden urge, while telecommuting, to buy myself a device and go to an animal park. But stuck at home, I started with the birds in the garden. I learned about them by joining the Bird Protection League. I was selected for a Grandchamp-des-Fontaines photo contest at the end of the second confinement. I then wanted to continue professionally. I opened my business in 2021, selling my paintings and calendars, giving photography lessons and doing portraits of pets, mainly dogs and horses, while continuing my job in insurance. »
What do you particularly like to photograph?
“I like to photograph birds and even more those from the open sea and do macro photography, especially of insects which are unfortunately in decline and show their beauty. »
What do you like about exhibitions like this?
“I like the idea of raising public awareness. During an exhibition I like to see a sense of wonder, a smile in front of a photo, that nature speaks to them and that they leave of course with the desire to protect it in order to continue to contemplate it. »
