Deprived of its fiftieth anniversary, which it should have celebrated in 2021 if the health situation had allowed it, the Colomiers Accueil association remedied this year by blowing out its 51 candles “with great fanfare”. “One hundred people gathered around a meal and an afternoon of celebration”, says with satisfaction Evelyne Guilloteau, president. “Their smiles said a lot! The wonderful motivated and dynamic team that surrounds me has a lot to do with this! The association was born in March 1971 at the request of Alex Raymond, then mayor of Colomiers, to welcome the new inhabitants and help them integrate into the columérine community. Hence the name “Colomiers Accueil”. We have kept it and are proud to convey the values of respect and goodwill contained in the word “Accueil”! “
200 active members
The association currently has about 200 members.
His gymnastics classes (tonic, soft) and Stretching Pilates are particularly popular. Sophrology, recently introduced, has about ten regular practitioners. The activity program also includes board games, cooking, sewing, book meetings, creative hobbies, walking, bowling. His bridge club (Colomiers only) is affiliated with the French bridge federation and very well ranked at the departmental level. Excursions (lasting 1 or more days) are also regularly offered to discover extraordinary places, knowledge or customs of the region. Friendly meals, cocktails, snacks complete this busy schedule posted on the site www.colomiers-accueil.fr, and available at the “Stay on Mondays”, from 14:00 to 16:00 (room 19 of the Place du Cantal association complex). Subscriptions are possible all year round. Colomiers Accueil also opens its doors to non-columérin.
