This July 4, the Ministry of Health announced that they have comorbidities that are within the Decree 630 of 2021 may be vaccinated against covid-19 without the need to appear in the My Vaccine application.

The Health portfolio issued the Decree 744 of 2021, which modifies the National Vaccination Plan against covid-19, which seeks to eliminate administrative barriers in terms of scheduling appointments and identifying the population to be vaccinated, especially patients with comorbidities.

The director of Epidemiology and Demography of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, Julián Fernández, explained that this update was given “Recognizing the need to advance in the coverage of all people with prioritized morbidities”.

For this reason, as of the date, “all people with prioritized morbidities, defined in Decree 630 of 2021, can attend the vaccination points to be vaccinated, only by presenting their identity document, either citizenship card, immigration or Special Permit to Stay, together with a medical certification that shows the diagnosis of the morbidity or health condition ”, he assured.

The medical certification must be endorsed by a health professional, with their respective health record, since he or she will be the one who assumes responsibility for the veracity of the report made. This can be requested through the EPS, by external consultation, or with a private doctor.

The official clarified that this condition will be for people who have not been summoned to be vaccinated or that do not appear on the Mi Vacuna platform, which will allow progress with patients who suffer from the prioritized comorbidities and who have not yet started their immunization schedule.

“This decision allows those pending people to be covered more quickly and thus allows at the population level to reduce the greatest impacts in terms of mortality and incidence of serious cases of covid-19. The measure is complementary to vaccination by age, for which it is only necessary to present the identity document, without the need to appear on the Mi Vacuna platform “, he concluded.

The Minister of Health, Fernando Ruiz Gómez, published the first report mortality in those who have already completed the full immunization schedule, that is, they already have both Pfizer or Sinovac vaccines.

In the preliminary report, whose cut-off date was June 14, it is evidenced that mortality is really low in nationals inoculated with biologicals from the aforementioned pharmaceutical companies.

In addition, according to the report, there are no significant incidences in deaths among those who received Pfizer and Sinovac, the first vaccines that arrived in Colombia in February, when the National Vaccination Plan began.

The graph shows that no citizen between 20 and 49 years of age and who received the two doses of the coronavirus vaccine died after being immunized.

However, although quite low, some deaths are reflected in those over 80 years of age. According to the picture, 0.088% of people who received two doses of the Pfizer vaccine died, while for those vaccinated with Sinovac, the statistic was 0.082%.

Another of the age groups that the portfolio analyzed was that of citizens between 70 and 79 years old, whose mortality was classified as follows: Sinovac (0.033%) and those who were immunized with Pfizer (0.013%).

For their part, the figures did not vary much in those who were vaccinated and had between 60 and 69 years. Of this niche, those who received Pfizer died 0.033%, while with Sinovac it was 0.030%.
