Colombians protested in Times Square in New York – USA – International

Since last April 28, Colombians have taken to the streets to show their dissatisfaction with different situations that are experienced in the country.

Despite the fact that in most cases the sessions have been quiet, there have also been acts of vandalism that have damaged the demonstrations. Human rights violations have also been reported.

The protests within the national territory have been joined by those of Colombian communities in different parts of the world.

This Thursday, May 6, for example, one of the concentrations that attracted the most attention was the one that traveled the streets of the district of Manhattan, enn New York (EE. UU.).

The protesters left the UN headquarters and protested to the iconic Times Square.

According to the magazine ‘Forbes’, the demonstration was organized by Colombians Mauricio Vega, Alejandro Jiménez and Carolina Moreno, and it is estimated that about 6 thousand people.

“We want to assert our rights, even if we are absent it hurts us”Mauricio Vega, one of the organizers, told ‘Forbes’. “We hope that the United Nations manifests itself”, he pointed out.

On social media some of the attendees shared images and videos of the congregation.
