Cologne: 1,866 drivers are traveling too fast: Use to secure the way to school

Shortly after the summer holidays, employees of the technical field service of the traffic service of the city of Cologne measured the speed of almost 32,000 vehicles as part of the school route safety measure and found numerous excessive speeds.
Between Wednesday, August 18 and Friday, September 3, 1,908 vehicles were detected at excessive speed. Warning fines were imposed on 1,866 drivers. 41 drivers can expect a fine, three can expect a driving ban.
The top speed was measured at 103 kilometers per hour for a road user who was driving on the Bergischer Ring on August 19, 2021. The maximum permitted speed there is 50 km / h.
On Tuesday, August 31st, the emergency services of the technical field service discovered numerous speed violations on the Dellbrücker Mauspfad. In total, the speed of 819 vehicles was measured there. 220 were too fast. One car driver drove at 69 kilometers per hour instead of the permitted 30 km / h.
Also in the southern part of the city there was a questionable result near the Eifelplatz. On August 23, almost a third of 330 drivers on Kaesenstraße did not keep to the maximum speed of 30 km / h. 92 were warned, one received a fine.
