Coen Swijnenberg and Sander Lantinga will immediately no longer be heard on Radio 538, a Talpa spokesperson confirmed to this site. On Thursday afternoon, the two announced that they would be switching to JOE, the new radio station of DPG Media.
The lunch program that Coen made every working day between 12 noon and 2 p.m. will be replaced by Niek van der Bruggen in the near future. The Coen & Sander Show on Friday will be filled in for the time being by Frank Dane’s program. “They can no longer be heard immediately,” said a Talpa spokesperson. Sander Lantinga can still be heard on Radio Veronica for the time being.
Talpa’s decision cannot be seen separately from the duo’s surprising transfer. Swijnenberg and Lantinga announced on Thursday to move to JOE, where they will again make radio in the morning for five days. The start date of the DJs will be announced later. JOE is new in the Netherlands. Since September 1, the channel has been DPG Media’s second, next to Qmusic, and brings hits from the 70s, 80s and 90s of the last century. It was previously announced that Dennis Ruyer will take over the time slot from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on JOE. This means that the programming up to and including lunch is known.
Swijnenberg previously said he was ‘extremely happy’ with the step. “After almost twenty years of sitting in the car from work with the listener, we are going to get up with them on JOE. We are looking forward to building the channel with a new, enthusiastic team!” Lantinga thought it was time for a new adventure. “We are going to do what we have always loved to do at JOE: make a daily show with the two of us. I am very happy and proud that we can contribute to the station.”
