Cobra snake coiled on its body when waking up, this grandmother screamed hysterically

KOMPAS.com – A grandmother with the initials Y di Indramayu, West Java, was rushed to the hospital on Thursday (7/8/2020) night.

The reason is, his eyes are swollen after being sprayed Cobra when waking up at his house.

Commander of Team II of the Indramayu District Fire Service (Damkar), Dedi Supriyadi, said that although there was swelling due to the bursting of snake venom, the victim’s condition has now improved after receiving medical help at the hospital.

“Alhamdulillah, the family was immediately taken to the Indramayu Regional Hospital,” he told Kompas.com, Monday (10/8/2020).

“The mother also returned home, was not hospitalized. The medical team immediately handled her at that time, and was allowed to go home,” he added.

Chronology of events

Dedi said that when the incident happened, the grandmother was sleeping at her house.

Feeling something moving and creeping in his body, he then realized.

Suddenly he was surprised when he saw a cobra with a length of about one meter was seen coiled on top of his body.

At that moment he screamed hysterically for help. Knowing that the victim was shocked and made a movement, the cobra allegedly reacted immediately by spitting out its venom.

Although he did not have time to bite the victim, it was discovered that it immediately made the victim’s eye area swell.

The family who knew about it immediately rushed the victim to the hospital and reported it to the fire brigade.

The snake was successfully evacuated

Dedi said that after receiving the report, his party immediately searched the victim’s house.

Cobra one meter long was finally secured while hiding under the chair in the victim’s house.

Related to the cobra’s terror, he appealed to the public to be more careful.

Because, in the current dry season, snakes will usually look for a comfortable and cooler place to hide.

“Please be careful when going to sleep, for example. Please check the bed or children’s play area at home, under the chair, etc. The snake is looking for a comfortable place,” said Dedi.
