Coalition blocks arrival of Mona Keijzer after fuss of catering note | Inland

Minister Eric Wiebes (Economic Affairs) is present at the debate, but because Keijzer is responsible for the catering industry, PVV leader Geert Wilders asked her to come to discuss the controversial note from the ministry. The official memorandum states that the reopening of restaurants ensures fewer unsafe meetings at home and thus even fewer infections.

The memorandum came out on Tuesday while the cabinet was meeting about the corona approach.

“That note is too useful not to discuss it with the responsible minister. As far as I am concerned, Minister Wiebes can do something else today, ”says Wilders. Other opposition parties support the PVV leader. SP leader Lilian Marijnissen: “It is the State Secretary himself who caused the commotion!” She blames the cabinet for deliberately spreading ‘selective disinformation’ by leaking such documents.

Government parties CDA, D66, CU and VVD block the proposal. VVD party chairman Klaas Dijkhoff says he has no questions for either Wiebes or Keijzer. The SGP does not go along with the opposition, because the cabinet itself deals with its delegation in debates.

Dijkhoff points out that the bill is only a draft. The fact that it has been leaked only makes it more difficult for catering entrepreneurs. “This was a sparrow, but it was dead.”

It doesn’t make the criticism any less. “Why do you say to the catering industry: fat middle finger”, Wilders said to the VVD leader in the Chamber. The PVV leader is also not satisfied with the cabinet policy. “Instead of a million vaccines at the beginning of January, half a million will arrive. And the Netherlands knows no better than to start on January 4. What a fumbling. ”
