Club ‘Depo’ will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a three-day celebration

In the middle of March, one of the oldest music clubs in Riga – “Depo” – celebrates its 20th anniversary. Having survived both the financial crisis of 2009 and the restrictions of the last two years of the pandemic, “Depo” is currently the longest-running music club in Old Riga. Its anniversary will be celebrated for three days, offering concerts by various local groups.

The celebrations will be opened on Thursday, March 17, when the duo “Chipsis and Dullais” will perform, as well as domestic punk rock veterans – the group “PND”.

An ambitious celebration is scheduled for Friday, March 18, when “Nova Koma” and “Iron Wolf” will perform at the Depot.

On Saturday, March 19, the celebration of the round anniversary will continue with concerts by the groups “Yellow Postmen” and “Inokentijs Mārpls”.

Club “Depo”, 32 Valnu Street, Old Riga, was opened on March 15, 2002. Its predecessor was the club “Metro” at Lāčplēša Street 5, which had existed for less than four years. Depo was originally intended to be a diverse music house with a focus on a variety of electronic music genres. However, over the years, it has become an important platform for rock and underground music, where the stage is given to both brand new musicians and experienced veterans. The club has always been open to foreign artists, offering a wide range of musicians. “Depot” has been played by “Arcade Fire” musicians who visited Latvia with the group “Bell Orchester”, the singer, artist and composer of the group “Swans” Jakbo, and many others. The head of the club since its foundation is Guntis Vanags.
