Clínica Ponferrada collaborates to promote blood donation in El Bierzo and Laciana – And also

Since its arrival in Bierzo, the will of Clínica Ponferrada has been to collaborate with associations of all kinds in promoting the health of all Bercianos. In accordance with this objective, the Clinic has just signed an agreement with the Brotherhood of Blood Donors of Bierzo and Laciana to collaborate in raising awareness among the population about the importance of donating blood.

For Clínica Ponferrada, said Carmen Rodríguez, it is essential that the residents of El Bierzo enjoy good health and a good quality of life.

“We want to help all of them live longer and better. Precisely for this reason, we now make our Clinic facilities available to the Brotherhood of Blood Donors, as well as the stand we have in the El Rosal shopping center to be able, from both spaces, to disseminate actions that make the population aware of the importance to donate blood in solidarity.

Donating blood, Carmen Rodríguez continued, helps save lives and improve the health of many people with cancer, with serious injuries caused by accidents, women with obstetric complications…

“Bercianos are supportive people. We trust that, through this agreement and the activities that we carry out during the next year, we will be able to add more donors to the Brotherhood”, concluded the manager of Clínica Ponferrada.

For his part, the president of the Brotherhood of Blood Donors of Bierzo and Laciana, Abelardo del Egido Mayo, highly valued the support of Clínica Ponferrada in promoting blood donation, even more so, he said, “at this time of increased demand for blood components and the urgent need to add new donors to our group”.
