Bakri Selim, executive director of the Egypt Clearinghouse, announced that he joined the initiative of Mortada Mansour, President of Zamalek, to meet Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly to discuss his decision to return to the League Championship.
Bakry said in statements to the Zamalek channel, that Mortada Mansour speaks for all 17 league clubs who support the cancellation of the competition.
He indicated that he had put forward his opinion as a representative of the Clearing House in the first club meeting with the five-year committee that runs the Football Association.
He continued: “There is no objection to implementing the decision of the political leadership and the minister to return to the activity, but we are playing a refresher course with the preparation period in the absence of foreign players to experiment to see what can happen.”
He added: “There is no objection if Al-Ahly got the league, in order to start a new league correctly,” adding that “Mahmoud Al-Khatib, the head of Al-Ahly, during the meeting with the Football Association, refused that his club’s goal is to win the league only.”
Despite his desire to end the competition, the Executive Director of the Clearing Egypt asked the state to intervene to settle the remaining dues of the second round matches: “We have dues from the sponsoring company, and we will be lost if the competition is not completed.”
