Claims to be a convert but a Christian on ID card

Ferdinand Hutahaean explained about the status of his converts in court. Ferdinand claimed to have converted to Islam since 2017, but was still a Christian on his ID card.

Ferdinand made this confession during the trial for reading the indictment at the Central Jakarta District Court, Jalan Bungur Raya, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (15/2/2022). After the prosecutor read the indictment, Ferdinand explained the religious status on his ID card.

“Regarding my identity card, which is on my ID card, I am still listed as a Christian. However, since 2017, I have converted to Islam and embraced Islam,” said Ferdinand.

Regarding the status on the ID card, Ferdinand Hutahaean admitted to having problems in managing the letters. Regarding the status on this ID card, Ferdinand admitted that he had also conveyed it to the Criminal Investigation Department.

“I have also conveyed it at the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police, but administratively, my ID card has not changed, there are still problems related to the documents that have not been changed so that the ID card has not changed. But in my daily life I have been living life as a Muslim since 2017,” he said.

Ferdinand Can’t Remember the Date of Convert

The judge then asked the date and month Ferdinand converted to Islam. However, Ferdinand claimed not to remember because he had health problems related to nerves.

“So Brother since 2017, to be precise still nothing no date, month?” asked Hakim.

“For the date of the month I don’t nothing Your Majesty, because I have a slight problem with my health. Nervous health problems, so my memory right now is a bit short, so I can’t remember,” replied Ferdinand.

The judge then said that the convert should be history. Therefore, said the judge, Ferdinand Hutahaean should remember that historical thing.

“‘I’m a convert to 2017, but I don’t remember the date and month anymore’, it’s a historic day in your life, so you should remember it. But that’s okay,” said Hakim.
