Cities around the world turn off the lights to mark Earth Hour

In London, the lights were turned off on the Parliament buildings, the London Eye, the skyscraper The Shard and the neon signs on Piccadilly Circus.

In Paris, the Eiffel Tower was darkened, but few got to see it because the city is closed with a curfew due to the pandemic. The tower has been closed to the public since October.

In Rome, the lights were turned off at the Colosseum, in Barcelona the lights went out at the Sagrada Familia church, and both the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin and the Kremlin in Moscow were darkened.

The event started in Asia, where the evening came first, and where the lights in the skyscrapers in Singapore and Hong Kong were turned off, while the Opera House in Sydney was also darkened.
