While the Pays de la Loire Region has set itself the objective of welcoming 7,000 refugees on its territory (100,000 throughout France), Loire-Atlantique is to date the department hosting the most Ukrainian nationals since the beginning of the confit. As of April 27, 1,296 adults and minors had been registered there, and 724 temporary residence permits granted under the “temporary protection” set up by the European Union. Mobilized with other social landlords by the state, partner for several years of associations working in favor of the accommodation of asylum seekers, and established in many municipalities of the department, CISN Résidences Locatives, has undertaken a census work accommodation that can be made available to them.

A transitional reception for a period of approximately 3 months

“We are carrying out this work hand in hand with the state services” says Lise-Anne Le Hay, director of CISN Résidences Locatives, “After the emergency reception of refugees upon their arrival, a transitional reception will be organized in the social park for a period of approximately 3 months, before proposing more permanent solutions. These are blocked and unoccupied dwellings, for example awaiting rehabilitation or demolition » she continues. These accommodations will be rented to associations, which will sublet them themselves to the persons concerned, and will provide rental management and social support for the household. An approach in line with the solidarity policy led by the social enterprise for housing CISN, which has been working for several years with associations helping people who are victims of domestic violence, in a period of reintegration, or seeking asylum. CISN Résidences Locatives is also a partner of the Aurore association for the creation in Saint-Brévin of a reception center for asylum seekers with 42 accommodations, located in the former Pierre Attelée holiday centre.
