Webex Lesgislate is a cloud platform, which aims to expand integrated security and privacy capabilities

The multinational Cisco announced new dynamics that will allow justice systems and legislative bodies around the world to continue with their functions without setbacks, taking into account that 50% of public officials expect to work remotely for at least eight days or more, by month.

This is Webex Lesgislate, a system that offers secure delivery of virtual government services across multiple previously disparate technology platforms to deliver greater efficiencies, lower costs associated with travel, and keep the public safer.

The company explained that this is a secure cloud platform, which extends WebEx’s built-in security and privacy capabilities and that also meets the specialized requirements of global legislatures, providing a “better than being there” experience to offer legislators the same capabilities as in the chamber or parliament, while attending sessions in their regions and staying close of the citizens they represent.

The announced measures combine Cisco technology, including Cisco Webex video conferencing, with the expertise and innovation of Cisco Customer Experience (CX) and the Cisco partner ecosystem.

The new solution offers legislatures the ability to debate and vote on legislation according to their rules, procedures and regulations through custom voting functions.

It also allows for secure parallel rooms that mimic the conversations legislators have on committee or in the room. These rooms can be ad hoc or permanent.

One of the added values of this new tool is that it offers simultaneous interpretation and subtitles, which facilitates the holding of legislative sessions in several languages, among other innovations.

Notably, Webex Legislate was funded and co-developed by the Cisco Country Digital Acceleration (CDA) program, together with Irish systems integrator and Cisco partner Davra.
