Bank Indonesia (BI) plans to launch money new special to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence. The launch will be held tomorrow, August 17 2020.

There has been much speculation about the type and nominal money which will be launched tomorrow. Even on social media, pictures of new rupiah banknotes with a nominal value of IDR 75,000 were spread on social media.

When confirmed parties WITH A does not confirm the truth of the new money information.

“Wow, a lot of guesswork, it’s exciting. Just wait for tomorrow,” said BI Communication Department Executive Director Onny Widjanarko to detikcom, Sunday (16/8/2020).

According to the scattered pictures, the Rp. 75,000 note is red with a combination of white and green. The faces of Soekarno and Mohammad Hatta were plastered.

Then on the opposite side there is a picture of a row of children wearing traditional clothes from various regions in Indonesia. Also complete with the signature of the Governor of BI and the Minister of Finance.

Even so, BI has issued special money several times for several warnings.

Launching an explanation document for BI special currency, this special rupiah currency is defined as money issued by BI specifically in the context of commemorating an event or a specific purpose and having a nominal value that is different from its selling value.

This special money can be in the form of coins or uncut paper. So that it resembles a large sheet consisting of several bills (continuous money).

This special rupiah currency is actually a legal means of payment, but is not usually used as a medium of exchange.

This money is also a means of developing numismatics or for collecting money in Indonesia.

Each edition of the special money issued is made in an attractive and unique packaging, so that it can be used as a souvenir.
