Last November José and Juan Salazar gave the bell by announcing, in a totally unexpected way, their professional separation. After 45 years in the world of music, ‘Los Chunguitos’ went their separate ways, leaving their fans shocked by this surprising breakup.
Six months after saying goodbye to the group, José Salazar – devoted to his solo career and preparing his first concerts throughout the country – confronts the rumors of a bad relationship with Juan and assures that, despite the fact that “he wanted take their path and I too, each one for his place”, there is no type of confrontation between them.
“Nothing happens. Everything is fine with my brother, but we’ve been singing for 45 years and we each need a little oxygen and that’s it, because they’ve been together for many years. It’s a lifetime,” he points out, insisting that despite the fact that they have undertaken solo paths, “good relations we have the truth”.
“There is more friction being brothers but hey, nothing happens, here in life the important thing is to clear the mind a little and with time and life, maybe we’ll come back. I don’t know what can happen in the future. Life takes many turns. Maybe in a year or two we will return again, this is not known.” he affirms regarding a possible return of ‘Los Chunguitos’, something that, as we can see, he does not rule out at all.
And speaking of brothers, José has told us how the ‘Azúcar Moreno’, Toñi and Encarna Salazar are: “They are very well, they are very pretty, they have a job, they are healthy and that’s it. Wonderful.”
Far from having quarrels with Chanel for ‘eliminating’ his sisters from the Eurovision race, the artist bets on the Spanish to win the European festival since, as he says, “he sings and dances very well”. “I see a future for him, I wish him good luck and may he win,” he adds.
