Chrysler unveils a graphite version of its Airflow Concept

In January 2022, Chrysler unveiled a brand new concept, the Chrysler Airflow, at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas. While the announcement of this concept marked the imminent arrival of the manufacturer’s very first electric vehicle, Chrysler increased with a version Graphite of his SUV Airlfow.

Graphite Edition

The Graphite edition of the Airflow is presented at New York Auto Show to demonstrate one of the design expressions that had been developed during the early concept sketches.

This edition is in a way the antithesis of the final version that was unveiled at CES, while the color palette that covers the vehicle is very dark. Galaxy Black paint covers the Airflow Graphite’s body, while copper-colored accents like the window surrounds and rims add a bit of pizzazz.

We also find a continuity of this theme in the cabin, while we find seats and other surfaces covered with leather in gray hues. Several surfaces such as the dashboard have an even darker appearance, and then there are other copper-colored accents as is the case on the exterior of the vehicle.

Chrysler Airflow Concept

Although this Graphite edition is aesthetically reworked, the center of attention remains the concept as a whole.

The Airflow Concept comes at a very opportune time for the Chrysler brand, when many thought it would die in the face of the too great challenge of electrification. With the arrival of the Airflow, Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares announced that he was considering big plans for Chrysler and he said he had no intention of letting it die.

This concept, whose central point is aerodynamics, aims for a range of between 563 and 643 kilometers on a full charge. We still don’t know the size of the battery, but we do know that this SUV will offer all-wheel drive, that it will be equipped with one motor in the front and one in the rear, and that a combined power approximate 400 horsepower was announced by the manufacturer. We can also expect a single-engine version, the sale price of which will probably be cheaper.

The passenger compartment is designed to offer a “lounge” style atmosphere to its occupants, and by looking at some photos of the concept, we can validate everything. Chrysler also aims to market this vehicle, of which it has not yet unveiled a production model, during the year 2023 as a 2024 model.
