Christmas markets light up around the world / Article

With the smell of goodies and mulled wine in the air, festive events are back. For the first time in two years, one of Italy’s most famous Christmas markets has started operating without restrictions. More than 700,000 people visit the Bolzano market every year, where you can find the creations of local artisans. There are also banquets – various Italian delicacies are served and, of course, mulled wine.

A fifteen-metre tall Christmas tree also stands at the center of the traditional Tallinn Christmas market in neighboring Estonia.

The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train is back on track for its first intercontinental tour in three years. It measures its way through Canada and the United States.

There are an abundance of holiday markets in Austria. However, much attention has been paid to the energy crisis this year. Many have taken steps to reduce energy costs, such as using LED lights or using less lighting. The sellers also admitted to raising their prices slightly.

“Our motto is to save 20% energy – this is particularly important to us. At the same time, we want to create a 100% festive atmosphere here,” said the Christmas market organizer.

“Well, I really missed the mulled wine, and I think it’s great that everything is so well decorated and there are a lot of people outside,” said Valeria, a visitor to the market.

Although some places have fewer Christmas decorations and bright decorations, the Christmas spirit is not lacking even where there is no snow. In Spain and Cyprus, the cities are bright and decorated, but people flock to the holiday markets to finally enjoy the festive atmosphere and togetherness after a long break.
