President of the United States (USA) Joe Biden positive for Corona or COVID-19. Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a message to Biden for a speedy recovery.
Reported CNNFriday (22/7/2022), the news that Biden tested positive for Corona was conveyed by White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.
“This morning, President Biden tested positive for COVID-19. He is fully vaccinated and twice confirmed and has very mild symptoms. He has started taking Paxlovid. Consistent with CDC guidelines, he will be isolating in the White House and will continue to do all his full duties. during that time,” said Jean Pierre, Thursday (22/7).

This is the first time Biden tested positive for COVID-19. Biden’s medication, Paxlovid, is Pfizer’s antiviral drug and is available through an emergency use authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of mild to moderate COVID-19 in people 12 years of age and older who are at high risk of severe disease. The drug requires a doctor’s prescription.
Biden has received the first two doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine ahead of his inauguration in January 2021. He has also received his first booster shot in September 2021 and his second booster vaccination on March 30, 2022.
Because of his age, Biden is at risk for a more severe case of COVID-19. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says older adults who are fully vaccinated and upgraded significantly reduce the risk of hospitalization and death.
Biden was originally scheduled to travel to Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, on Thursday for a speech on crime prevention, followed by a Democratic National Committee fundraiser in Philadelphia. He is also scheduled to travel to Orlando and Tampa, Florida, on Monday. Biden will now self-isolate at the White House ‘consistent with CDC guidelines’.
Biden says he’s fine
Joe Biden himself revealed his condition was fine. Biden also apologized for his absence from various scheduled events.
“I’m fine,” Biden said via his personal Twitter account which was uploaded Friday (21/7/2022).
“Thanks for your concern. Just called Senator Casey, Congressman Cartwright, and Mayor Cognetti (and my cousin Scranton!) to express my regret for missing our event today,” Biden wrote.
Biden said he was still doing his job. “Stay busy!” he said.
